---- 1989 900 SPG, 3 door, 16 valve turbo, 5 spd manual ---- This car was bought from a friend for $500 with a host of mechanical problems and some fender rot that was then professionally repaired. I put an airflow front bumper on and a whaletail that I had lying around. The car never ran spectacularly but treated me well for over a year as a daily driver. Unfortunatley whilst driving home from my grandmother's house on Christmas eve I was side-swiped by an SUV during a snow storm. How bloody typical. I never got a chance to really delve into this car mechanically so it never became anything spectacular. It was always a nice looking but slightly mechanically beat 89 SPG. After the accident I stripped the gearbox out and put it in my girlfriend's car. In terms of looks versus performance this car was the most 'rice' car i've ever owned. It looked great; it was a real dog... I think my $200 winter beater drives better! © 2004 Team Saabworks
